More About Cloud Equipment

I am Bruce Cloud, Jr., dba Cloud Equipment, operating from my home office in Dripping Springs, just West of Austin, Texas.

Before I get into our history I want to encourage you to check out our newest business investment.  TrakRack, commercial quality wall shelving is a newly patented product with roots right here in the Austin area.  Our commercial target markets are architects, design-build firms, commercial builders, real estate developers & property managers, remodeling contractors.  TrakRack is engineered for strength and designed with today's styles in mind.  Our shelves are easy to install and convenient to re-arrange without ever having to anchor into the studs along the wall.

OK, Here's a little more about Cloud Equipment.

My grandfather and father brought me up in the Construction Industry.  The smell of blueprints, diesel and dirt  along with the attraction of huge earthmoving equipment has been the foundation for my interest in this business.  Having worked in construction as a field hand, operator, dispatcher, equipment manager, estimator and Senior  Quantity Engineer on the Alyeska Pipeline joint venture project, I am keenly aware of the importance every role is to job cost  and the company's bottom line.

Woven among my construction jobs were short stints working for small equipment dealers as a driver,  parts warehouseman and order clerk.  In 1979 I was fortunate to be hired into the local Holt Caterpillar Dealer's Sales- Management training program.  The eight month training was extensive.  Starting with the importance of a clean  and safe shop I learned about proper tooling. Working as a mechanic's helper I came to appreciate the responsibility these tractor doctors must exercise to keep the fleet available for production.  Parts availability for older equipment became a factor in learning to estimate repairs or trade-in values for used equipment.  New equipment sales showed  me the other side of Owning and Operating Cost. The training covered every department in the company ultimately resulting in a sales territory here in the heart of Texas.

That early career experience made my transition to equipment sales much easier because I understood the contractors  point of view.  My grandfather must have seen my future because when I was still young he gave me this advice:  "Whenever you make a deal with someone, be sure you leave enough on the table for both of you to come back to."  Those words have echoed in my conscience ever since and drive my relationships with customers.

Late in 1995, I took the leap and chartered Bruce Cloud Equipment, Inc., named in honor of my father.  This family  business did well for a couple years as I developed a broader knowledge of used equipment sales and appraisals.  At the beginning of 1998 I was offered an opportunity to establish a dealer branch for the Texas Terex dealer.  However;  they ended up selling out to the largest rental fleet operation in the country and my job shifted to marketing.  The decision to close out BCE, Inc. came soon afterwards.

After 9-11  many things changed in all of our lives.  As the economy fell and bombs started dropping over Afghanistan the other shoe fell on me as I found myself without a job or a company for the first time in decades.  What to do?

Inspired by my father's motto:  "Don't Quit", my wife and I decided to go ahead and do those things we might have wished we'd done when we found ourselves older!  My family heritage is very important to me...the equipment business and the people who are in the construction industry are my peers.   How could I bring it all together to work with both?  After months of trial and errors the scenario finally started coming into focus.  Partnering with both buyers and suppliers....I want to provide each with a common platform that will help them promote their company and products.

ContractorsTradeshow.com will be an industry portal where both contractors and suppliers come together.  I am excited about its simple purpose and huge possibilities toward effectively developing the most comprehensive portal serving the  needs of contractors, manufacturers, suppliers and service providers.  By faith and trust I believe ContractorsTradeshow.com  can provide those features and benefits Supporters and E-xhibitors can utilize... and most importantly, appreciate in their  bottom line.  I think their participation will show to be the best value for their marketing dollar.  Cloud Equipment will concentrate  on promoting the show and developing relative online events.

And, yes, I plan on continuing to help contractors with their equipment needs particularly by providing them with helpful contacts and search capabilities.

Starting in July 2004 I became an independent distributor for Liquidity International, a vertically integrated, international sales and marketing company based in Dallas, Texas.  Owner, Scott McKnight is a leader in the field of Aloe research and development and started Liquidity in 2002 to distribute the highest quality health and wellness products available; specializing in the most powerful nutrition drink - LiquiVida.

I am convinced that Liquidity's superior product line will make a world of difference to our companies, our families and our communities.  "Employees who participate in a voluntary wellness program achieve and maintain an improved level of personal health which research shows leads to improved job performance, increased work satisfaction and reduced health care/insurance cost." (Texas State Wellness Program, UPPS No.04.04.32, effective 10/20/2004) A healthy employee = A healthier bottom line

TrakRack is another opportunity for us to offer our clients the best product of its kind backed up by personal service which we are dedicated to.  Call and let me show you how TrakRack stacks up!

With all that being said I look forward to being of some service to you. Please check out the rest of BruceCloud.com.  Thank you again for your time, please contact me with your feedback or any questions you might have.

Bruce Cloud, Jr.
